I work a retail job in my local mall. I won’t try to bullshit you here guys, I fold t-shirts for a living, and I have been at my current job since 2004. While this typically may be seen as a shitty job, I love the people I work with, and we have all been at the store for ages, I remember quite a few of them from when I started shopping there in high school.
To quote Randal Graves: “Why because I enjoyed what I did? I got to watch movies fuck with assholes and hang out with my best friend all day, can you think of a better way to make a living? Yeah maybe it wasn’t what everyone does but it was pretty fucking good.”
Of course you’ll need to replace watch movies with folding shirts, but you get the general idea.
Unfortunately, as much as I may adore my co-workers, this job can’t continue to support me- silly things like bills, and health care grow increasingly important as I get older, and so the job hunt begins.
Hopefully, now that I’ve told you this, dear reader, you can keep me motivated, because my job is like the most comfortable pair of chuck taylors I own, and a new one seems about as foreign, (and comfortable), as nine inch stilettos.
